Abstract


We analyze the article-literature review of the Head of the Department of Pharmacy Management, Faculty of Pharmacy, Adiyaman University (Turkey), Gulzen Kirpik, who specializes in management issues, in particular organizational, strategic, human resources, as well as organizational development issues, since she received her doctoral degree from the Institute of Social Sciences, Inonu University (Turkey), in 2018. The article compares views on the role of spirituality and value-oriented (spiritual) management of a wide range of authors (102 literary sources), who are committed to an equally wide range of spiritual practices, including the rather exotic enneagram for Turkey (and Ukraine). This article attracted attention due to the author’s desire to highlight the role of spirituality in resolving conflicts and crises, which is relevant for Ukrainians in times of war – to be able to overcome the risks of an increased conflict background of interaction under the influence of the deepest social crisis, which is war. That is why we are analyzing this chapter out of the 16 chapters of the book “Spirituality Management in the Workplace: New Strategies and Approaches”. The book has been generally recognized by the Investors in People community (a globally recognized accreditation of the quality of people management and employee well-being, founded in 1991 by the UK government; since February 2017, the form of ownership has changed to a Community Interest Company; currently operates in 101 countries). This fact significantly increases interest in its content, in particular in the article by PhD Gulzen Kirpik. Another fact that has fueled interest in the book and its chapter on spirituality in the service of overcoming crises is its dedication to those who lost loved ones during the 2023 earthquake in Turkey, because “In circumstances where power based on material elements is not enough, the issue of spirituality comes to the fore”.
